It’s actually an awesome feeling like sci-fi is slowly coming true. But at the same time, there are still a lot of questions and challenges to figure out.

I think the safest and most futuristic approach would be to eventually make all cars autonomous, like Cybercabs, where every vehicle can communicate with other vehicles and share information in real time. Instead of every car making decisions completely on its own, they could work together as one connected system.

For example, if a car suddenly brakes, detects an accident, sees an obstacle, or encounters dangerous road conditions, it could instantly send that information to nearby cars. Those cars could then slow down, change lanes, or take another route before they even reach the problem. If there’s an accident or road blockage ahead, the information could also be relayed across the entire network so cars approaching from farther away can avoid that route altogether.

It could even go beyond just preventing crashes. Cars could coordinate at intersections, merge into traffic more efficiently, maintain safer distances, and optimize traffic flow without everyone constantly braking and accelerating. Emergency vehicles could also automatically communicate with surrounding cars so a clear path is created before they even arrive.

That’s the part that would really give it a true futuristic, sci-fi vibe not just cars driving themselves, but an entire transportation system where vehicles are constantly communicating, predicting situations, and working together.

At that point, driving wouldn’t just be automated the whole road network would almost feel like one intelligent, interconnected system.

Also, one suggestion/feedback: GPT-5 tends to explain extra things rather than doing the work directly. I often have to tell it multiple times to simply do what I asked. It does correct itself after I explicitly point this out, but that shouldn’t be necessary in the first place. I hope this is something that can be addressed. @sama @OpenAI
