Mr Pettit’s Year 7DDt1 class finished making their Insect/Bug Hotels today. They laser cut plywood decorations & mounted them onto their products. One of the students added 3D printed decorations as well. Before they take them home they will add a coat of oil to protect the wood.
The Year 7 decorations for the Bug/Insect Hotels can be manufactured in a variety of ways. We’ve trialled laser cutting the plywood shape & then adding coloured graphics using the heat press, laser etching plywood & also laser etching black painted mfd. Here are the test pieces.
