What an amazing thought! How many teachers come down to EYFS and say "I wish my room could be like this!" But then how many are scared of our 'curriculum' and cling to formal assessment? This could be done, we just need to let people know how wonderful a creative curriculum is 😁
@teacher_eyfs @EYFSideas @MissT__EYFS @MissMini_EYFS Lots of people don’t like change at all and you’ll often get ‘but we’ve always...’ Stick to it and after a time you may hear ‘I’m pleased we do this now’ ☺️
@teacher_eyfs @EYFSideas @MissT__EYFS @MissMini_EYFS We regularly complete those kind of activities with Nursery- it’s appropriate if they engaged with it and they need to learn it and it’s definitely not beyond what you’d expect Reception children to access (and enjoy).
@EYFSDEMAT1 @Keep_EYs_Unique @Eyfs4M Left at the end of that year! Unfortunately very few school seem to continue any type of sustained play into year one but at least I could protect my sanity by being in an FS that supports my way of thinking! 👍🏼
@Eyfs4M @Keep_EYs_Unique Had to spend far too long one year sitting Reception children at tables in ability groups with differentiated tasks, and limited adult support. I called it ‘training them to be bored quietly’ ready for Y1 and it was sad! #timetochangeschool#eyfs#play
