@JasonBulmahn $60 for a very high quality print product is ok. Like premium edition. But I can afford it. Not everyone can. At that price point most would end up being PDFs and if those prices go up, I'd probably just stop collecting RPG stuff.

@SSkorkowsky It's such a shame. Things like Deus Ex and X-Files were so great, but they worked largely because of the time they were made. Conspiracies were a fun fiction. I still love X-Files, but it doesn't work in modern day because of this crap. It's not a fun fiction anymore.

@newbiedm Seems like the big uptick is more recent. It's tempting to see it happening around the same time as streamed games got big, but that may be coincidence. Character creation being super involved, "collaborative storytelling," and the dominance of high fantasy combining?

@Owen_Stephens I really don't think I have a preference. Whatever gets the group together. Right now that's a lot of VTT (foundry) use. I like using visuals to give people something to look at, whether it's a map or just an image.

@ShawnTomkin Despite the OSR scene having a ton of different specific games, content creators manage to create tons of great stuff that targets general "old-school D&D" and everyone gets along tweaking anything specific that is needed.

At this point, even if they backtrack it's still true. Get away from that deficient license and protect yourself from any possible predatory behavior

It means someone much much smaller than Hasbro would have to bring a suit against them and have actually standing to do so.

OSE in Dolmenwood tonight. Adapting Madness at Gardmore Abbey so my players may be in for a treat. Continued my Godbound in Planescape campaign as well, and that is going well, in the sense that god-like PCs run roughshod over the Dead Gods adventure, as they should

@XPtoLevel3 "...this hobby cool..." This hobby is way bigger than D&D (TM). Part of me wants D&D to nosedive, so the rest of the industry can step out of its shadow. People cling to the idea that D&D is bringing in new people to TTRPGS, so it's worth it. I don't know if that's true anymore.
