You can’t run a ‘people first’ campaign and misuse the people’s funds.
OCF just fined Janeese Lewis George’s campaign $16K for unlawfully coordinating with unions. This underscores what we already knew: she can’t be trusted. Worse? She straight up lied about it. Her pattern of unethical behavior proves she’s unfit to lead our city.
All of these Dems in Maine claiming it’s a media hit job on Platner, sound exactly like the “fake news” Trumpers. And they don’t even realize it! I’m really just waiting for one of his sycophants to say “but her emails!”
This video is turning me into a burn-it-all-down populist ready to toss out the arrogant political elites (these Ivy League ex-Bernie staffers who recruited Graham Platner).
Rep @RoKhanna says he also believes in redemption. And is willing to sweep all @grahamformaine’s problems under the rug. Because Platner “deserves redemption.”
Wild.
All these Dems who had a lot to say about 47’s actions and character, are ready to look the other way w Platner.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) said he believes the account of Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner's former girlfriend, Lyndsey Fifield, and urged Platner's campaign to stop attacking her and the journalists who reported on the allegations.
“I believe her,” Khanna tells @margbrennan and argues “I don’t think our side should be attacking her.”
Finally an elected Dem who will say it.
@JanetMillsforME might be on the ballot, but Platner apologists, comrades, and sympathizers will get him through the primary.
@MaineDems leadership has failed us, tragically. They’ve allowed his anointing with no oppo research.
NEW: Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean says Graham Platner "has disqualified himself" from Maine Senate race.
"It's so distressing -- All of the stories that are coming out, and there are more and more, it seems, by the hour."
Who couldn’t see this coming?
The woman sharing that he called it “My Totenkpf”…
You don’t get out of the shower every day for 18 years having no idea what is on your chest—as he has claimed. And if he’s telling the truth, then he’s not smart enough to be a US Senator.
Three women who dated Graham Platner, the Democratic candidate for Senate in Maine, told The New York Times they found his actions intimidating and disturbing, describing volatile relationships. https://t.co/ClaeKxVUEs
Watch Bernie Sanders shrug off Graham Platner's Nazi tattoo, him saying women should "act like an adult" to avoid rape, saying that Mainers are “racist and stupid,” and saying that “black people don’t tip” by blaming Platner's baggage on his military service.
Kaitlan Collins: "In terms of Graham Platner himself, you're standing by him."
Bernie Sanders: "Yes."
Collins: "This isn't the only issue that has plagued his campaign. There's also the tattoo, the post from online. Are you worried about anything else coming out about him?"
Sanders: "I don't know. All I can say is look, I'm sure he's not a saint, and by the way, let's not forget, he has acknowledged this guy served four tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He went through some very bloody and horrible situations. He has acknowledged that he came back with PTSD..."
DEMOCRATS, what are we doing?
I’m not looking for purity tests, but we should have standards. Decency should be the rule, not the exception.
Since Graham Platner announced his campaign, it’s been one red flag after another. Yet the endorsements kept rolling in.
When the Nazi tattoo surfaced, there was still time. There were other candidates. People could have changed course.
The fact that his campaign knew about this is crazy to me.
And if you think this is the last Platner problem that’s going to emerge, good luck.
Graham Platner: “It’s no surprise to me the establishment media outlets are just gonna run gossip instead of wanting to talk about the things that actually matter in this race which are the material realities Mainers are working with. These people are gonna try to make this race about anything but what’s it’s supposed to be about which is policy. Amy and I have a very loving and very happy marriage. They would very much like to try to rip that apart. They’re gonna come after us in every awful way they possibly can and we’re just gonna keep talking about the fact that the hospitals are closing, childcare facilities are closing, teachers and nurses aren’t paid enough and that everybody down here continues to work harder and longer and get less. The powers that be don’t want us to talk about that so they’re just gonna do gossip instead… What Genevieve McDonald said in the NYT is not true”
Breaking News: Amy Gertner, the wife of Graham Platner — the Democratic candidate for Senate in Maine — told his campaign in 2025 about sexual messages he sent to other women. https://t.co/0UefTX3dIS
At the center of that ecosystem sits the SEIU. Through its Workers United affiliate, SEIU controls Amalgamated Bank, nicknamed "America's Labor Bank," founded 1923. Today it doesn't just bank unions. It banks the DNC, progressive orgs, and donor-advised funds that quietly move money into policy research. 📎 https://t.co/LCp3S4Xp2i
The answer keeps leading back to the same place. Policies like Seattle's $15 minimum wage and secure scheduling ordinance weren't born from neutral policy debate. They were manufactured by an interconnected ecosystem of unions, donors, and academics all sharing the same funders, the same board seats, and the same political agenda.
What sort of “Journalism” goes on WAMU? Alex shares a poll with no cited sources. And then talks about “hearing rumors” that match the narrative.
Hey Alex, your bias is showing…
New: @Janeese4DC just released an internal poll showing her up by 14 in the mayoral race: her lead stays at 12 even when they run a RCV simulation.
This is quite the change from the public poll of the race, but I will say I’ve heard rumors of private polls with similar results.
The DSA brand is very good at talking like it represents working people. But it is actually rooted in the activist class, college-educated progressives, and people who want to cosplay economic populism.
The reality is @ChicagosMayor is completely inept.
He whines and moans yet achieves absolutely nothing for his city.
It’s almost as though he doesn’t know how to legislate at all.
WATCH: Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker heavily criticizes Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s team this morning for their handling of the Chicago Bears deal and lobbying state government in general.
“I know that the mayor has no plan. He has come up with no plan at all about how the Bears would end up in the city of Chicago. So that’s problematic. I’d love them to be in the city but we are three years in now and he still has no plan.”
“The mayor has shown up every spring at the end of session to pronounce what he would like to see happen. As you know the budget gets put together starting in November…I present that budget to the legislature in February. So that seems like a good time period to come talk to the governor’s office. Then there’s February to May. There’s all that time to come talk to the legislature, which has my budget in hand, or the governor’s office.”
“Again, we’ve seen almost nothing out of the mayoral administration here on that subject or really any other. So to show up in May and have a bunch of demands seems like late in the game. And it’s unfortunate that’s happened most years.”
Johnson’s chief of external affairs is Kennedy Bartley, who formerly worked as a Chicago Teachers Union-funded organizer for police and prison abolition. The mayor’s former top lobbyist, Sydney Holman, resigned in 2024 after Johnson elevated Bartley to oversee the mayor’s office of intergovernmental affairs.
Since working in worker advocacy I rarely meet an elected that cares as much about their constituents than @AnitaBondsDC. This endorsement is huge for @kenyanmcduffie. Here’s hoping JLG’s dirty politics finally catch up with her.
🚨 Endorsement Alert 🚨
I’m proud to have the endorsement of At-Large Councilmember Anita Bonds, a steadfast leader who has spent her career fighting for DC residents too often left behind.
Together, we’ll keep fighting and delivering for our seniors, returning citizens and marginalized communties across all eight wards.
When you have campaign folks coordinating directly with PACs it’s a problem.
But @Janeese4DC’s campaign thought they could collude with their comrades embedded here and there and it’d be totally fine.
Rules for thee and all…
Even as OCF investigates ties between JLG's mayoral campaign & unions could another controversy be brewing involving DC4Democracy & Sierra Club DC PAC?
