Today in 2W we’ve been measuring the volume of different liquids. We worked as a team to estimate and then measure the volume of different coloured liquids. 🪣🥛🫖

Today in maths we have been using measuring scales. We measured how heavy different objects in our class were and the used the comparison symbols to compare them.

Yesterday afternoon we went on a mini beast search. We learnt all about Micro habitats and then went looking to see what organisms we could find.

We found spiders, slugs, snails, ants and even a little caterpillar. 🕷🐜🐛🪱🐌

This morning we’ve been getting practical! We’ve been using rulers to measure the length and height of different classroom objects. We then compared these using <,> and =. 📏

This afternoon we’ve been developing our sketching skills. We are creating a collage with a pencil sketch of our school building in the centre.

Today in 2W we have been grouping 3D shapes based on heir properties. We looked carefully at the number of faces, edges and vertices the shapes had.

This morning we have been looking at division. ➗
We used cubes and dots to share amounts equally.
We couldn’t believe how easy division really was.

This morning in 2W we’ve been subtracting.
We used the dienes to see what happens when we subtract 2 digit numbers. ➖
Some of us even started to exchange tens for ones. 🥇

This afternoon we’ve been getting creative in 2W.
We’ve been developing our pencil and colouring skills whilst drawing our Black History famous figure … Mary Seacole. 🩺🩹💊

This morning we have been trying to improve our vocabulary choices. We used a range of up levelled words to created some expanded noun phrases for our character description.

We then wrote them onto our whiteboards and included a commas to list our adjectives.

This week in ICT we’ve been looking at coding. We used our Purple Mash accounts to create simple algorithms.

We are really looking forward to our session next week where we become computer technicians and fix some broken codes. 💻 🖥🛠

We used the dienes to represent numbers and then partitioned them into Tens and Ones.

This morning in English we have been expanding our vocabulary.
We used the Thesaurus to find synonyms for words that we could use in our Poems tomorrow.🔍 📚
