Calling Canada the "worst in the world" to deal with is bold from a guy who once tried to buy Greenland with a straight face.

This is our largest trading partner, our energy backbone, and the reason half the Midwest still has affordable electricity.

Premier Ford said the number of jobs in Ontario’s auto sector outweighed the export value of canola to China, and therefore justified the tariffs.

So what is it? Jobs or Export values? There’s no “Team Canada” until people like Premier Ford are honest with Canadians. It’s about his province to him. I don’t begrudge him for that, that’s his job but let’s get real and start telling the truth. Until that happens it’ll always be east vs west, rural vs urban, industry vs industry in Canada.

Canadian Agriculture:

Total Direct and Indirect Jobs: Combining primary agriculture and its immediate supply chain, the industry supports ~630,800–730,800 jobs. When including the entire agri-food ecosystem (processing, retail, etc.), the total rises to ~2.1–2.5 million jobs, representing about 12% of Canada’s workforce.

Canadian Automotive Industry:

Total Direct and Indirect Jobs: The automotive industry supports ~603,500–622,900 jobs in Canada as of December 2024, representing ~3–3.5% of the national workforce.
