@girlfrommarsza Definitely. We can’t underestimate the impact the loss of a head coach has. I haven’t seen our ladies play this badly for a long time. I do have to say that the Welsh have managed to get away with not rolling away at some significant moments.
@Zander182007@Ringo26 Fair point. I still feel Nohamba deserved more opportunities and game time, but I accept we may not have had the full picture there, especially as Rassie had already indicated he wasn’t in the Bok plans. My much bigger issue with the Lions is what happened to Ntlabakanye.
@insiderugbymark@SARugbymag 2/2 Most importantly, SA has a horrific GBV crisis, and Siya uses his voice to stand up for women. I know ppl outside SA have heard the inspirational speeches many times, but it’s hard to understand what those words and actions mean here. Thats also what makes him our captain.
@insiderugbymark@SARugbymag 1/2 I get what you mean. But captaincy isn’t only about what happens on the field. Siya runs a foundation, supports women’s rugby and has spoken about wanting to help grow the women’s game. Even when he’s “off”, he’s usually on the sidelines screaming for his teammates.
@Zander182007@Ringo26 You’re right, the Lions helped Nohamba rise. But after he won URC Player of the Season, they barely played him and blamed his father’s death, which he disputed. And yes, doctors failed Ntlabakanye, but they were Lions doctors.
@girlfrommarsza Do you know if the games are also available on RugbyPass TV in South Africa? Apparently there hasn’t been 100% confirmation that Supersport has the rights (still listed as TBD).
@green_pippa Exactly. We have to plan our lives around the fear of male violence. We think about if it’s safe to walk alone, take an Uber, go to the postoffice, what we could use as a weapon. For many women the danger is at home. Don’t tell us to be vigilant, WE ARE, stop men from killing us!
@Oom_Rugby In Town, Nelson’s Eye. I also remember Pirate’s in Plumstead being excellent but was last there 10 years ago so I can’t guarantee it’s still good.
@flappylinkgame Having a problem with the sound (none). Is it a phone brand thing? Yes, I’ve pressed the sound setting on the game. I only realised there was sound when I saw others commenting.
@insiderugbymark I thought of you when I saw this on Instagram. South Africa welcoming the Black Ferns. This is what it’s all about - Ubuntu: https://t.co/dVmKk40ygg
@ShaneConnor@flightradar24 Listen doos, don’t come in on your American white horse and pretend to know better. South Africa have been doing this regularly since 1995. This was well planned, monitored, practiced and executed. Info that can be easily found 🙄 Your planes drop bombs. Focus on fighting that!
@TomMcMurtryNZ@TheRugbyIssue A maul shouldn’t have been called, knee on the ground a while before. Even so, ABs should have been penalised for collapsing the maul that was incorrectly called 😜
@Brendennel You learn more from losing than winning. Luckily for the Boks they lost the first game in the series. They CANNOT repeat the mistakes made today.
