I love seeing students take charge in their learning! Using our W&W curriculum, students participated in a gallery walk to access prior knowledge in the different texts we’ve read about how scientists explore the sea. Then, they contributed their ideas in a Socratic Seminar! 📚

Thank you Mrs. Squires for bringing in day old turkeys! It was neat comparing them to the baby chickens we have, oh and the baby ducks! It’s been pretty eventful up here in third grade 🐣

We started learning how to find the theme in a story. After reading the story, Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse, students had to come up with a theme or lesson that they took away from the story. I was beyond impressed with their “take aways” so we had to make theme posters!

After reading Creepy Carrots, students had to work together to build a model of a fence to keep the Creepy Carrots from getting out, with limited supplies! It was a fun way to incorporate a stem project with some literacy and science! 📖🧐
