@learnteachtech@MsRauschMWHS As a fellow social studies teacher to that person - give me students who have to take ownership in their learning over me showing what I know any day.

@learnteachtech A10: I think anything that can build a relationship is the most important. So I'm going with pair and share. I love watching my kids work with each other, tackle an assignment, and also laugh.

@mssheahan@learnteachtech I love this! This also allows relationships to build because they are able to share their thoughts with you. As an introvert, I would have loved this option.

@learnteachtech My students do a lot of projects and then present. I give feedback as they present. They then see others' presentations and then step their own. By the end of the year they are answering 20 or so questions and can give a professional presentation.

@learnteachtech These 7th and 8th grade students then can stand up in front of 500 community members and rock a Veterans Day Essay without breaking down. #lifeskill#proudteach ##csp554
@learnteachtech I get to the point where every assignment can be a pair or individual choice. Many students will share notes or get each other caught up with what they've missed through the unit. So they are teaching/re-teaching each other and I just have to monitor it.
#csp554
@learnteachtech I do more pair and share than groups. Groups tend to get way off track in middle school. I always give them the option of being a pair or working by themselves and I've seen more involvement by offering them that choice
#csp554
@learnteachtech It is frustrating, and disheartening to some kids. I think homework can easily turn into a "gotcha" game. And I see so many students break down over it. Not worth it, I'd rather build them up in class.

@MrsAngell720 @learnteachtech I like the practice in class time too. I think homework is moving more into blended or flipped classroom settings, which is good too.

@Mr_WillsClass@learnteachtech I think this is a great way to introduce comprehension or key points. I hope my child has teachers like you when he is old enough for school.

@learnteachtech A2 continued: I also get to show a lot more of pictures, text, video clips with using fill in the blank. It helps with everyone's short attention spans
#csp554
@learnteachtech A2: Fill in the blank notes on paper has honestly worked best. My district doesn't have monitoring software for the devices; I can't quickly tell if everyone is paying attention if I'm at the board. My students like them because they are only listening for a few words. #csp554
