When we reframe our personal perspectives taking in the embodied experiences of a student... there is a shift in connection and we can lean into what we often misunderstand!
Serious post:
Look after yourself this year.
Doing โwhatโs best for the kidsโ does not (and *must* not) necessitate the compromise of your health - mental and physical.
It just isnโt worth it. *You* matter.
Assert your boundaries unabashedly.
You got this!

We welcome the announcement today that teachers will be awarded a fully funded 5.5% pay award. This is a necessary first step in reversing the real terms cuts inflicted upon the profession over the last 14 years. #ValueEducators

When it comes to scaffolds and adaptions, I think we as educators overthink and overcomplicate. Same task, very subtle scaffold in place for one that allowed both children to meet the learning intention. It really can be as simple as that.
Summer 2 is a tough half term for primary with so much going on. People think we wind down for summer, but it feels the complete opposite!
Shout out to all the thousands of hard working staff in schools doing a great job! No awards required!
Same task, same outcome, same knowledge - different adaptions and scaffolds to enable that to happen. Followed by quality modelling, we reduced cognitive overload by: printing sentence stems out for some, sticking the sentences in for others, providing key vocabulary for all.
@_MissieBee ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ my 6 YO only nailed the art of sleep about a year ago. Until then he would wake EVERY night & end up in our bed. Heโs still not great at falling to sleep but my 3 year old has always been a good sleeper. Iโve done nothing different with them. It is a killer. I feel your pain!
