@misshannaclarke I love this idea! It's such a fun way to spark conversations and help students learn about places beyond their own community. I'm sure they enjoy hearing the stories behind each magnet! #PE503
@misshannaclarke Nashville is a great place to visit! I completely agree that spending time doing things we enjoy during the summer helps us recharge. It makes it easier to head into a new school year feeling refreshed. #PE503
This month I have enjoyed sharing ideas from my K-2 PE classroom and learning from other educators. This experience has reminded me that professional growth happens when we share, collaborate, and learn from one another. #PE503
@historyprotein It's hard to believe the new school year is right around the corner! I'm doing my best to enjoy every moment with family this summer before it flies by. Wishing everyone a great rest of their break! #PE503
The gym is a great place for students to practice leadership skills. Through games and activities, students learn to communicate, encourage others, solve problems, and persevere when challenges arise. #PE503#LIM
My school is a Leader in Me school, and I love how the 7 Habits create a common language across our building. The habits encourage students to be responsible, work together, and take ownership of their learning in all areas....including PE! #PE503#LIM
I discovered Lava Monster through @PhysEdGames resources. His YouTube videos provide clear demonstrations of games, and his books are a great resource for finding new activities organized by grade level. #PE503
Happy #FavoriteGameFriday ! ⭐ One of my students’ favorite games this year was Lava Monster! I discovered Lava Monster through @PhysEdGames https://t.co/iJ09300B7B #PE503
@misshannaclarke I can definitely relate! I started in a high school PE position, even though I always pictured myself teaching elementary. I loved both experiences, but I'm happiest where I am now teaching K-2. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to try both! #PE503
@misshannaclarke Taking a breath and pausing before responding helps me stay regulated. I remind myself that my K-2 students are still learning how to manage their emotions, and they need me to model that for them. If I'm dysregulated, I can't help them regulate. #PE50
@EproHPE Yes! PE isn't about creating athletes..it's about helping students develop the skills and confidence to enjoy being active in ways that are meaningful to them! #PE503
@MadisonLinckSRU I agree! Some of the best teaching moments in PE happen when students encourage a classmate, celebrate someone else's success, or choose kindness during a challenge. #PE503
In elementary PE, visuals are so important! Having a video loop of a skill demonstration available helps my K-2 students better understand the skill while practicing. What technology tools have you found helpful in PE? #PE503#techinPE
Technology can be a great tool for increasing student independence in PE. I love using the imgPlay app to loop demonstration videos in my lessons so students can revisit skills and directions as they practice. #PE503#techinPE
In PE, W.A.L.T. helps my K-2 students understand our focus for the day. Whether we are practicing safe movement, throwing, teamwork, or sportsmanship, knowing the “why” helps students become more engaged learners. #PE503
Meet W.A.L.T.! 👋 Our related arts team uses W.A.L.T. (“We Are Learning Today”) to help students discover what they are learning and why. This idea started with our tech teacher and has become a fun way to make learning goals visible across related arts classes. #PE503
@MadisonLinckSRU I couldn't agree more! Play creates meaningful learning opportunities. In K-2 PE, games help students develop not only motor skills, but also cooperation and social-emotional skills. #PE50
@EproHPE Absolutely! There are still a lot of misconceptions about youth strength training, so it's important to rely on research. Teaching proper technique and emphasizing safety can help students build lifelong healthy habits. #PE503
I love using Far Away with kindergarten because it teaches so much more than movement. Students practice moving safely in personal and general space, freezing on command, and making responsible choices in a group setting. #PE503#PEGameSpotlight
