On Parents and Players…
“They tell on themselves. They drop hints.”
It all matters.
One player can sink a program.
Just let your child be the best version of themselves that they can be.
After prayer and careful consideration it is clear God has a new path ahead of our family. I will forever cherish my time at DeQueen, and look forward to getting started at Gurdon!
Be Great!
I have never written much, but God has put it on my heart to start writing a football coaches devotional. If you would like to be added to the list, whether I know you or not, DM me and I would love to share and for you to hold me accountable to continue writing it.
Went to a few HS games over the last couple weeks
One thing still stands true
Big difference between…
PLAYING & COMPETING
Most = Play
Few = Compete
Some plyrs think they are competitive bc they make a positive play & show emotion
Competitors are consistent
GREAT TEAMS HAVE GREAT TEAMMATES.
✅ Bring energy whether they're playing or not.
✅ Find ways to be in the game even when they aren't in the game.
✅ Create momentum.
✅ Are just as excited about a teammate's success as they are their own.

PLAYERS: Hustle never has an off-day. Hustle is a talent. Hustle is a choice. Hustle demonstrates to others how much you value your team and teammates!
To ALL Athletes…
▪️Be kind to yourself.
▪️The Process is the Prize.
▪️It is OK to struggle.
▪️Adversity is your greatest teacher.
▪️Resiliency is a life skill.
If you choose a team sport, and your desire for individual success is greater than your desire for your team’s success, your journey will be filled with a lot of frustration.
Winning on a team is fueled by everyone’s sacrifice.
"I am a huge believer in being coached." - Peyton Manning
Coaching is about feedback, growth, and improvement.
- The great ones are coachable.
- They want to be coached
- They want to be challenged
- They want to learn
Be Coachable!

Crazy to think this is my 30th Summer of watching AAU basketball in July. I still enjoy the process of evaluating talent but wanted to give a little advice to the young hoopers going into the 2nd week of the live period…….
Belle wrapped up her career as a DeQueen Lady Leopard finishing 7th overall at the State Heptathlon. She scored 4072 points and was the only girl in the Top 10 from a 4A school or smaller. Proud of you @BelleLindsey15 and looking forward to seeing you at OBU next year.
7 freshmen in this group! They made up over half of our team, and they all showed up on a mission. So proud of all the girls! The future is bright for this group… look out 4a, they’ve still got 3 more years!
Huge congrats to Belle Lindsey on earning her way into MOC, as well!!
So proud of this group! Points scored all over the place and an exciting finish to get state runner up! My throwers finished 5th in disc (senior) and 6th in shot (freshman). Can’t brag on these girls enough! So proud to have been a part of your year!
