Inflation is now 8.7% instead of 10.1% - this means prices have gone down 1.3% right..? WRONG!!
Prices are 8.7% higher than 12 months ago. The General Price Level is still increasing, just at a slightly slower rate than previously #whsecon

So proud of our year 11s! Second of their maths exams completed today, two calculator papers to go after half term. Especially proud of those who came to breakfast revision this morning and their maths lesson after the exam! You are all smashing it 🤯💪🤩

Very proud of year 12s today sitting Economics Unit 1. Several have 2 or 3 way clash with other subjects, a tough day but try your hardest and you can hold your head high. Great last minute revision this morning and a free breakfast to set them up for success! #whsecon

Today @bankofengland increased base rate to 4.5%

Some people saying, “Not as bad as the 90s” but below illustrates the huge impact today.

Relative to income, mortgages are at an all time high & 10% interest on £70k is less than 4.5% on a £250k mortgage!
