@HannahWardEdu@IllessenceE I appreciate all the help but I mostly replied because I’m the silent majority, and all of you scandalized that some of us don’t read to our kids don’t appreciate that kids have different interests. My youngest could count by 2 at 18 months but I don’t lecture number literacy
@HannahWardEdu@IllessenceE I feel very secure in my parenting so it doesn’t bother me. My kids are very smart, the older one especially verbal. I asked him about these books & he told me he would rather read a chapter book because picture books are for babies. So I might need a dual strategy for both kids
@JasonYoakam@HannahWardEdu If you had asked instead of assumed I could have told you that neither of them have tablets and they watch hardly any tv maybe an hour a day sometimes none at all. They’re not interested in screens either they would just rather play
@atestu@HannahWardEdu I can only tell him to keep trying. It’s disheartening when you have a hundred brand new books and all they want to do is look at the pictures and they protest if you start reading the words out over their shoulder 🤷♀️
@HannahWardEdu@IllessenceE That would be great! The 4
Year old loves 80s rock music, museum, zoo, camping and is very verbal and imaginative. The 3 year old is super physically active, never still unless he’s active, interested in his baby sister, monkeys, letters and numbers (knew them all around 1)
@anisenot I swear I’m not bragging I just remember how hard it was with very little help for the first two babies compared to how much easier it is now with the third, not to mention two extra people to fill my kids childhood with love and magic and plenty of one on one attention.
@anisenot My in laws moved about a year ago from Florida to 25 mins drive from us, and it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. They have their own health issues and my MIL is also taking care of her sick mom, but they help out in every way they can and I’m grateful every day.
@sloeginpsyop I had 3 c sections and after every one the nurses basically tell you to get up and walk around the day after, it helps a lot with recovery apparently.
@unimpressedTO There’s nothing wrong with stopping but in my experience 6-8 weeks is when it starts to get a bit easier. But if you’re done then you’re done and that’s ok too.
