Feedback doesn't need to require a teacher to sit for hours and write comments on pages. In fact, that's often one of the least effective methods.

@heymrsbond I do, we do, you do. The I is you modeling the skill and showing your metacognition. We do can be group or whole class. You do is individual work.

This idea of not wanting students to read books that may be upsetting is so unsettling. We should read books that challenge us, upset us, and push us in our thinking. Once we start reading only texts we agree with or make us feel good, we are entering dangerous territory.
