@EnglishEdTech Today I had my observation and the kids were thinking outside of the box with answers to this poem. #EDU310 it was really cool to see their thinking.
This week I have my observation on Wednesday! We spent the last few days preparing and planning for the lesson of Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost. #EDU310
This week I haven't been able to go to my placement, the students are on spring break! I hope they all have fun and I cannot wait to return to the classroom next week. #EDU310
@EhlertHailey3 In high school, my teacher would play black and yellow, but the song SOHCAHTOA helped me remember the phrase. Did you do anything fun to help them remember this? #EDU310
On Monday, I had my first observation. I was able to work with two students who needed more help with characterization. I think it went well. My supervisor also suggested things I could pick up from my mentor during our conversation after. #EDU310
@baran_allie Being an elementary ed major do you think it's easier to change your lesson plans or is it more challenging because you have so much to choose from? You could teach different topics than just one when comparing this to Secondary ed majors. #EDU310
I was finally able to get back into my placement yesterday! It was great to see the students again and we went over how to write an essay. I learned a fun way to organize this with body movements. For example, the body paragraphs was kind of like vogueing like Madonna! #EDU310
Again, I wasn't able to go into my placement this week. I go tomorrow for the first time back and I am super excited to see the students again! #EDU310
@wunde001 That could be interesting to see if there is an increase. I used to be a psych major, so it could be interesting to see if there is anything going on in the brain...#EDU310
I haven't been able to make it to my placement this week and I won't be in this week either. I am hoping that the kids and my mentor are excited to have me back in the classroom 😟 #EDU310
@madisonowens452 At my placement, sometimes that has happened to me, so I understand. At some point they will open up, I feel like it just takes some time. Maybe by the end of the semester, we'll have different stories.
This week at my placement, I learned what a "long-short week" is. The idea is, you cram all the drama and nonsense of a five-day week, into a four-day week and just watch the chaos unfold. Besides this students wrote more and was helping them with their writing. #EDU310
@madisonowens452 Do you think you could see yourself teaching middle school? Even though I know you enjoy elementary school, could there be a possible switch? #EDU310
