@y40mfc@_Reading_Rocks_ @redgierob @primaryteachew@reading_realm It’s not reading material, but there is an awesome writing unit on Literacy Shed + called ‘The Dreadful Menace’. I got some of the best writing from my kids from this unit! I highly, highly recommend!
@ChrisYoules Aged 3 or 4: falling off the kitchen counter whilst my mum was on the phone to my dad. I remember her dropping the phone and me thinking I was in BIG trouble. I wasn’t: it was just concern as I’d had another epileptic fit.
@Teacherglitter I read this book to my 4 year old every night to help her deal with her separation anxiety that came about as a result of lockdown 1.0. She has now memorised the story and “reads” it to us instead 💕it’s a really lovely story, isn’t it?!
@ChrisYoules I loved it, but agree with others that it took a while to get into. I can remember reaching the point where I couldn’t put the book down! Would quite like the time to read it again as I think it’s been about 10 years since I read it last!
@Chris_Stark @CBeebiesHQ I feel you! I’m on day 3 of 1-2 hourly wake ups with my 8 week old. I’m absolutely hanging!! Couldn’t even string a sentence together last night!! (But the huge grin I get in the morning makes it all worth it though!)
@CBeebiesHQ@HEYDUGGEE@AndyDayTV My daughter has trouble with any ‘k’ sound - it comes out as a ‘t’. So when you ask what noise a duck makes, the answer is always a very loud and confident “twat!”
@teach_lauren To accept that you will never cross everything off your to do list. You learn pretty quickly that you need to prioritise and those “nice to do, will make things pretty” jobs sometimes really don’t matter! Good luck 😊
@NQT_MissN @_Reading_Rocks_ What everyone else said and The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. It’s a fantastic mix of narrative and chunks of the story being told by illustration only. My Year 5/6 class were captivated by it 😊
@MsQuinnHistory Unfortunately Bing and Peppa Pig “don’t work” on our TV. It’s such a shame! My husband thought I was overreacting until he watched Bing once and he ranted about how awful that whiney bunny was for about 5 days straight!
@_Reading_Rocks_ My little one loves the Mrs Bun the Baker book and the What the ladybird heard recipe book. (Admittedly for slightly younger children!!)
@DrRanj@CBeebiesHQ Dr Ranj - you’re a genius!! My little one loved this. Perfect explanation with your lovely smiley face. Made all the more better because Jobi is my daughter’s favourite character! Thank you xx
