I believe in 2nd, 3rd & 4th chances for students to try again, make a mistake or fail & get up again - as many chances as it takes for them to learn & succeed! There’s always one more round!!
Setting up the #coheadship over a decade ago now with @clairamitch is still 1 of the proudest moments of my life. Back then,taking a punt on us as not 1 but 2 new heads was testament to the innovative & forward thinking culture of our governors. So proud our story is now in print
Latest behaviour read..couldn't agree more that effective behaviour management needs to be explicitly taught, I'm passionate about supporting colleagues in my own school and so pleased that the impact for pupils can already be seen.

My baby stopped after school to collect leaves. I didn’t appreciate it at the time. Now she is asleep, I’ve looked at her collection and just seen what caught her eye and heart. We can learn something from the stillness of children who see the world with innocence and purity.

Ask children whether they prefer smiling faces or stern ones. Obviously, the way to bring about harmony and friendship is to smile. We need to cultivate such childlike attributes that are the basis of human values and remember that we are the same and have to live together.
