@MasterCollinsPT@Trask1970PT@JuliaDHoffmanPT "Quentin, thank you," she said softly, swallowing. Her voice was still hoarse from the tubes. The doctor said it would go away on it's own, but…. "This won't be forever," she mumbled, and withdrew her hand into the blanket.(4/4)
@MasterCollinsPT@Trask1970PT@JuliaDHoffmanPT But she was drained, her thoughts slow and sluggish. She didn't know what to say, didn't want to talk. Still, she couldn't let him leave without telling him how much this meant to her. She extended one arm out, catching his hand with a finger and looking up into his eyes.(3/4)
@MasterCollinsPT@Trask1970PT@JuliaDHoffmanPT Well, Maggie would like to remember those days too. A fresh start? No, it can't be—can it? (Her head…) She should think about this when she is awake, but… "Quentin, I'd love that." (4/4)
@MasterCollinsPT@Trask1970PT@JuliaDHoffmanPT But maybe he too longed for those early days, and she finds herself smiling through her aches. She thinks she could take the stairs herself now, with help… but he had been so broken when she awoke. If it makes him feel better… (3/4)
@MasterCollinsPT@Trask1970PT@JuliaDHoffmanPT Maggie was touched by his attentiveness, but after the hospital anything seemed better. Even this gloomy old house she could barely consider home.
Her eyes settled on the loveseat for a moment, tempted to nap, when she heard footsteps from the foyer. She looked away. (2/2)
@MasterCollinsPT@Trask1970PT@JuliaDHoffmanPT Meanwhile, Maggie sat in the drawing room, waiting for Quentin to return. She still felt sore all over and the drive up had drained her. She had hesitated to climb the stairs, so Quentin had gone to ensure her room was ready first. (1/2)
@MasterCollinsPT “No, no I want to go home,” she says hurriedly, struggling to sit up too quickly and groaning as her back strains, something in her side pulling. “I don’t want to be here anymore. If the doctor said I can go, I’m ready to go.”
@MasterCollinsPT “I don’t know,” she replies weakly. She desperately wanted out of the hospital. She had no idea how long she’d really been here, but it felt like too long whatever it was. But she hadn’t even stood up, she wasn’t sure if she could. “What about all of this?” She asks (1/2)
@MasterCollinsPT She’s almost drifted back to sleep when she feels Quentin take her hand in his. His smile tells her all she needs to know. It’s better than she’d expected. “Today?” She asks in shock, her voice still gravely. “Right now?”
@MasterCollinsPT She attempts a week smile before he leaves the room, closing her eyes and attempting to stop the tears as soon as he’s gone. She feels drained, like she’s run a marathon. She’s not sure how long her husband is gone, but regardless Of what had happened she’s relieved when (1/2)
@MasterCollinsPT When he seemed so broken? “Well you have to forgive yourself, because I forgive you. Whatever happened, I’m okay. I just want to go home.” Though Collinwood didn’t feel like her home. In fact just the thought of it turns her stomach. (2/2)
@MasterCollinsPT It didn’t sound that serious when he said it like that, so flippantly. But her arm was in a cast, and he’d said she’d been here for weeks. But before she. An ask anymore questions, he’s taking her hand back in his and sitting on the side of her bed. How could she be upset (1/2)
@MasterCollinsPT The tears are still falling down her cheeks as she shakes her head negatively. He helps her lie back down, settling her against the pillow as she winces. “What’s wrong with me Quentin?” She asks him. He’d said her injuries were critical. “How long to I need to stay here?” (2/2)
@MasterCollinsPT She grimaces as she drinks, groaning slightly as she attempts to swallow. It was clearly the first time she’d swallowed anything in quite some time. But the water is cold and refreshing and she sighs with relief when Quentin pulls the cup from her lips. (1/2)
