@holyhomemaking My first home birth they brought the pool and by the time they got there and started setting it up I said I didn’t think that I would make it that long. They said they would do it anyway, just in case. Well, I didn’t have that long 😆
@ValorAndPearls@singinghomeward@trequor_ But using the potty means you then have to also clean out the potty every time and…I’d rather throw a diaper in the garbage. I’ve potty trained 6 kids and most of them were 3-–4. When we did do it it was a cake walk because they were physically capable and motivated.
@singinghomeward@wing171741@programmergirl5 I didn’t know I had a method but apparently I do lol thanks for articulating that for me 😆 I was just telling my mom that my 2yo is probably ready but I don’t currently have the energy (v hard PP currently) and I don’t want to have her in the bathroom alone yet bc shenanigans
My upbringing was the exact opposite of yours. Education was the highest value in my house. College was the ultimate goal. As far as I could tell, there was no life after college at all, certainly no marriage or children.
These conversations about education are always muddled because we don't start with the fundamentals. What even is the purpose of education? What power does education even have?
I think I actually disagree with you, Megha and Hannah here. Education has less value in and of itself than we think. Its ultimate purpose is as a tool to help each individual achieve the role that God and Nature have set out for them.
For the genetically gifted, this may mean years and years of highly technical learning in engineering, medicine or law. For the average person, less is required. For the bottom quartile, the role of education should be to create minimally destructive citizens who can feed and care for themselves as much as they are able.
Education is not a panacea. Reading more (or better) children's books isn't going to magically upend the bell curve.
But that's fine. Our worth as human beings doesn't come from our station or our biology. When our values are rooted in eternal things, there is dignity for both the janitor and the professor alike.
You are a smart woman born into a slightly less than average family. Homeschooling in that situation was never going to work well, no matter how hard your parents tried. Things will be different for you and your daughter.
@bebookled I guess we will find out once he goes through the courts. I, personally, don’t think it should be. Yes, probably very unwise to do without informing spouse but until modern times I think sensibilities about “consent” with a spouse were different.
Local pastor arrested, charged with surveilling unclothed person w/ hidden camera in private bed/bathroom. It was his WIFE. Y’all! Is it weird? Sure. Bets on his wife being cold and unaffectionate? He said it “gave him a connection to her” which is telling! She’s divorcing him.
We’ve received increasing requests to certify our beef as halal. As Christians, we respectfully decline and focus exclusively on regenerative agriculture—restoring soil health, enhancing biodiversity, and producing exceptional beef—while keeping religious and ideological certifications out of our operation. Do you agree with our decision?
@Seraphima94 Ok, this is super random but I think about her often…how is your husband’s cousin(?) ? The one that had preeclampsia?
Saying a prayer for your friend!! May her birth go well and mom and baby be healthy!
