The gutting of funding by @AlbertaEd to @ABschoolcouncil is very visible while reviewing the financial documents of the organization during #ascaconf22. Just absolutely tragic that this government doesn’t support the legacy and importance of the work ASCA does. #abed#ableg
@AdrianaLaGrange Minister, do you know who is really good at screening students to see who needs added supports? TEACHERS. Y’Know the people who have at least one university degree (often more) & who spend their careers dedicated to kids. If you supported us the kids would get what they need.
UCP members of the committee hid behind bogus critiques around privacy. Once that was debunked, they said they needed "more time" to "come together" and bring forward their own antiracism bill. None is forthcoming.
I’ve come to the conclusion that being a classroom teacher right now isn’t about actually teaching kids. Instead, it’s been about their behavior and mental health. Which…is not my actual degree or profession. Still wondering when the promised mental health cavalry will arrive.
