Much more valuable to teach a child to choose a good fit book on their own than to have adults tell them, “you can’t read that.” What a message. It’s like teaching your child to mitigate reading risk all by themselves. How powerful.

Played Fill the Stairs from @MathforLove with Grade 1s today. Such great conversation and a great way to link place value. When asked about strategy, some kids said- “we wanted to fill the stairs in order 2_, 3_, 4_, 5_ etc etc.” Tomorrow we’ll try again with different dice! 🎲
