Tomorrow is #ShowUpForTeachers conference! I enjoyed it so much last year and am grateful for the opportunity to attend again this year. Thanks to Abby Cox and her staff for this incredible event @ShowUpUtah
@GovCox Thank you for visiting! It was an important message for our youth to hear from their governor that their future in Utah is bright and full of promise! Thank you for thinking about our students and leading by example.
If you don’t agree, you don’t seek silence. A true sign of intelligence and character is engaging in civil discourse where ideas are exchanged. Whether I agree or not, an invited guest of the university needs to be heard and given respect.
@KiltedMath_T Read through it again, and I still like the bill. It affirms the state and parents have a say in education. Parents are responsible, and I like that I will assist them because right now I am asked to parent—not okay. I just want to teach.
@KiltedMath_T Honestly, not seeing anything I disagree with in the bill. It just seems to ensure that parents are responsible for their students’ education.
In my district, parents can observe the curriculum and monitor their student. Just as a teacher is NOT a substitute for a parent, the law shouldn’t act like one either. Empower parents, don’t give them one more excuse to click on a link on and “think” they are involved. 2/2
Parents need to be involved in their children’s educational & this is NOT a solution. There is NO law, bill, or mandate as effective as a daily conversation with your child about what they are learning. This will yield better outcomes for the student than any law or teacher.1/2
Thanks @DrJCarrington for filling my soul today! It was an enlightening and wonderful Saturday morning ❤️. My husband also feeds the cows, so I am going to tell him he is amazing at his job too. #leakyballs#sohappyiseemintoxicated😉
@NetanyaElise I read this and feel the same way. Why? I usually get so excited but the struggle is real this year. “My heart is just so tired” is exactly how I feel too. Thanks for not pretending.
@teacher2teacher My qualifications include spelling random words on demand, while intensely glaring at someone who needs to settle down and simultaneously giving knuckles to a person who just completed some awesome writing.
The nominees are in for the Mid-Utah Radio Football Player of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year! You can vote now here: https://t.co/0j89g7d3sv
