"Rules without relationships lead to rebellion."
Isn't that the truth! Thank you again to @JonGordon11@JimVanAllan and the hundreds of participants who made The Power of Positive Schools webinar enlightening and inspiring today.
The 2021 @usnews high school rankings have been released. @YorkSuburbanHS is #1 in @yorkcountypa, #34 in the state, and #1,032 in the nation! Nearly 18,000 schools were ranked. Thank you to everyone who made this possible! Visit https://t.co/rpiX1rVgMZ for more details. #YSBOLD
Good to keep in mind as we keep this discussion going:
There will never be a perfect one-size-fits-all.

choose what #LMS fits your needs the best..
Looking a getting started to invite school leaders to use @CanvasLMS for Professional Learning. Here's a quick admin how-to slideshow. I used it with my district leaders a while back. Enjoy! #CanvasFam https://t.co/rdlIrJZHNc
Learning about #Canvas as an #LMS. Looking forward to discovering how it might be a more slick and sleek option than Schoology--especially considering my frequent use of all things Google.

This helped to answer some questions I had about the possibilities of indiviualizing assessment and allowing students to have a choice in how they express their understanding of the content.

Students can take control of their learning in #FlippedLearning by adjusting the speed at which they digest the information.
Videos--esp on YouTube, allow for pausing, "rewinding", or even increasing the speed of delivery to suit their needs.

@mikekujawinski I found this concept fascinating as well.
I'm dying to know what kind of rubric or grading system people use with this--as projects could be so varied, it can't be a one-size fits all in grading.
@mikekujawinski As a result of having to use Zoom daily this year...ive found a really slick way to just upload recordings/lessons I've done through Zoom right to YouTube.
I'm very interested to check out EdPuzzle now, though!..
I'm pumped to use a flipped environment in Orchestra. My students go home to do individual practice and submit recordings..but my feedback comes after the fact.
This way I can hear them play individually and give feedback/demo in real time 1 on 1.

@mikekujawinski I look forward to finding ways to employ this with my HS Orchestra! Having less face to face class time this year has taken a toll on the individualized instruction I've been able to give..but I look forward to that improving next year.
I so appreciate seeing that even the gurus of #flippedlearning recognize that there are evolving definitions.
This article points out that Covid has thrust nearly everyone into blended learning models, and has demonstrated a benefit to using various models of flipping.

@JTL25Colonials To be completely honest, I see it as more work for the teacher--in a way. The definite bonus is getting to have daily 1-on-1s with students.
The challenge would inevitably be any added followup with students who are not taking in the content at home.

@JTL25Colonials This graphic is a really great visual for me--to break down the aspects of a flipped classroom.
I think the part that I'm not sure about yet is how/where to host all the recorded content.
With a classroom of varied instruments in #Orchestra, it seems that my outside-school content would need to cover things like Music Theory, sighteading, scales scales, etc:
content that everyone could work on in unison...(i.e.- not our music for the concert.)
