This week 101 of my students were engaged 1639 times with @PearDeck

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@DonnaMA08 @MsBurnsFCPS #FCPSDLE Me too, but I still need more training on using the audio/video apps. These are the ones I want to try!

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MrJShuppFCPS @MrsBiddle #FCPSDLE In our building, we are being required to try these technologies in our classrooms now.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

#FCPSDLE DLE engages kids in a unique way, allowing our Ss to develop their creativity and put their tech skills to use to extend learning.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@SchmidtFCPS @SenoritaClaw #fcpsdle This is a useful acrostic. My 6th graders are also learning to paraphrase, not just copy whole passages.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MrsBiddle #fcpsdle Perhaps we need to discuss procedures for using tech as an LA group

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

#fcpsdle Trust but Verify-Establishing rules is essential but Ts need to be up and actively involved with students as they are using tech.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

#fcpsdle Many Newsela pieces have quick quizzes that are useful formative assessments.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@DonnaMA08 @MrsKremWKMS @Kahoot #fcpsdle Thanks, just remembered this training from last year. Will try it again, now that I have C-books.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@DonnaMA08 #fcpsdle Online games can be a great way to get a quick idea of where kids are in their learning/thinking process.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MrsLarsonRocks Agree! We can vary the amount of tech used in our classrooms according to what we know. So much to learn about now!

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MsBurnsFCPS @MrsKremWKMS Many Ss have a hard time sharing-for various reasons-and this gives them all a more equal footing.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

#fcpsdle A DLE supports more immediate feedback. Since it is better to give feedback sooner rather than later, these programs help do this.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MrsKremWKMS #fcpsdle 6th grade has STEM day with the Keys coming up. We could use this to engage kids in preparing for this fun day.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@TTSNavazio1 #fcpsdle Checked it out. Sounds intriguing.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MrsBiddle #fcpsdle They could tell the central idea of a text. Have you used twitter in class?

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@SchmidtFCPS How do I share? Can I attach a file?

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MrsKremWKMS 6th gdrs need to find central idea. Maybe-fun way for them to think about word choices and get the real central idea of a text.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

@MrsBiddle Great idea, Sarah. We could incorporate this into our SLOs.

[Linda Janeen Travis @MrsTravisFCPS]

#FCPSDLE Great format for exit tickets. Could be shared as warm-up next day to evaluate with class how Ss are understanding lesson.
