Mixed Media Art 7/8, Term 1 Famous Building Project - students got to choose a famous building/monument and create a simplified drawing paired with an abstract background - love it!

Mixed Media 7/8 Term 1 Digital Art projects- a great mix of colour, creativity and form! Very proud of what these students accomplished this term.

Eye see youuuuu! Our grade 7/8 Mixed Media Art did a fantastic job with these colour wheel eyes. They learned how to mix colours, colour theory and some sweet sketching skills.

What a week that was! Our 7/8’s worked in “Space Crews” to persuade an amazing panel of NASA guests that their crew should receive funding for their expedition to a planet of their choice. It was a great way to connect our unit on European exploration to modern day exploration

A most fabulous day of team building at Bragg Creek Provincial Park with our grade 5-8’s; students got to move from station to station (not surprisingly, my station was an art station….where students gathered pebbles to paint and turn into magnets). A lovely whirlwind of a day

The video is shot inside the Arctic Circle right between the border of Canada, Alaska and Russia. It lasts only a few seconds, but it is worth admiring the spectacular view.
Th can be seen for 36 seconds only once a year; the moon appears in all its splendor and then disappears.

Spent our day practicing setting up camp before our 7’s and 8’s head out into the backcountry in the next few weeks. This practice run will make all the difference for us when we are out in the mountains! (Spoiler: they did great!) #outdooreducation
