I can finally share the good news with you all... I GOT THE JOB! 🎊🎉 I’ll be teaching Year 2 in January🥳 I’m so excited to start my NQT teaching journey with a fanastic team at an amazing school. I’d love to connect with other Year 2 teachers ☺️ @MrTs_NQTs @SupportNqt #NQT
An empty desk can only mean the end of another school year. Today I finish my 26th year as a teacher.
After more than a quarter century in the classroom, here are five things I’ve learned:
☕A £5 iced-latte? Or gift book packs to 3 pre-school children living in women's refuge centres.
Books help overcome disadvantage and nurture a life-long love of reading, but for many they're a luxury families can't afford.
Spread joy this Summer with a monthly gift.💫
It's now June, so I am giving away my monthly class set of a book from my bookshop @ANewChapterBks.
Simply retweet to win, and please bear me in mind when buying books!

Adaptive Teaching and Scaffolding
Busy preparing for our CPD golden thread next year by creating a two page overview of the key aspects (this is page 1)
This draws heavily from mine and @MrsBallAP book, The Scaffolding Effect : https://t.co/1etw1ZWYX5
💡 Our guidance on special educational needs in mainstream schools includes practical resources.
It helps with plotting the overlapping needs of pupils, considering cognition and learning, as well as communication and interaction.

Some sad news to bring you.
The former Rochdale and Bury footballer and BBC Radio Manchester pundit Joe Thompson has died of cancer at the age of 36.
In a statement, his family said: "The world will not be the same without his contagious energy."

Kept myself out of mischief while my husband went off cycling. The log slicer came out and I made some fossils and eggs to dig up outside next week. 🦕 🦖
