"Passion is a feeling that follows action. It tends to be created or discovered, not predicted or planned. You don't find your passion. It finds you as you get in the mix and try things."

Good morning! Let someone know today that you see their gifts. Point out the great things they do, the strengths they show, and the impact they have. We all need to hear those things once in a while. Help others see their shine! Have a great day!👊
Show yourself grace for the slip-ups and mistakes you made. We are all just trying to do the best that we can do. So chin up, shoulders back, and remember how amazing you truly are!! Have a great day!
Good morning! Lead with gratitude today. Think of the many blessings that you have. The family, friends, and students that fill our days. All the comforts that we have. The fact that we’ve been given another day! Embrace gratitude today! Have a great day!👊
Good morning! This week be present and see the good things that are happening all around you. Listen for the encouragement, laughter, and love that others share. Feel the connections and bonds that are strengthened. Be aware of all the great things happening around you!👊
Good morning! Each day is a gift! Each day is a chance for us to paint our masterpiece, create our ripple, and blossom into who we are supposed to be. Make the most of today and walk your path with confidence today! Have a great day!👊
Just because a student may not be in your class doesn’t mean they are not one of your students - all students are all our students and a product of all our collective efforts!
Sealston Elementary kicked off reading Friendship According to Humphrey as a whole school with an assembly and a Humphrey sighting! Happy Reading, SES!
Three things you control every day are your ATTITUDE, your EFFORT and your ACTIONS.
It doesn’t matter what others are doing or who you think is being unfair. Every day you can focus on being positive, working hard and making others around you better.
I used to keep kids in at recess for not completing homework. I now realize they didn't do the homework, not because they didn't want to, but because they didn't know how to and had no one to ask.
The problem with homework: It highlights inequalities.
If you want to succeed with a difficult kid… you have to separate the attitude from the student. You don’t lower your standards, but you understand that there is always something motivating the behavior. Understanding leads to empathy… and empathy makes relationships possible.
A team of School Resource Officers and educators are representing King George at the Virginia School Safety Training Forum. We are grateful for the knowledge and expertise they will bring back to the KGCS school community!💛💙
If students aren’t getting enough physical education, movement, & recess, don’t blame them when they get restless, fidgety, & can’t focus in class. Children are active by nature & need to move. Exercise enhances focus, self regulation and brain performance.
