Republican or Democrat, no U.S. president should display framed photos of dictators in the White House. It’s an insult to the democratic values that office is supposed to represent.
I recently read:
“When I hear ‘not all men,’ my response is: ‘Not all sharks either, but I still get scared when I see one.’”
And whew. That’s it. That’s the whole fucking point.
Barack Obama at his last press briefing with reporters, 2017:
"I have enjoyed working with all of you. That does not, of course, mean that I've enjoyed every story that you have filed, but that's the point of this relationship. You're not supposed to be sycophants. You're supposed to be skeptics. You're supposed to ask me tough questions. You're not supposed to be complimentary, but you're supposed to cast a critical eye on folks who hold enormous power."
I just want to point out… the amount of money the U.S. has spent on war in the last 2.5 months is roughly the same cost that Bernie Sanders proposed for universal college. So the real question is never ‘can we afford it’… it’s what we choose to prioritize.
I'LL SAY IT AGAIN:
IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL to charge a $3.50 "processing fee" when paying a bill online.
Automated payment portals eliminate paper billing, manual sorting, and physical bank deposits for the business.
They cut their operational overhead to near zero, then bill you for the server that does their bookkeeping.
"McConnell would never be allowed to drive a car, babysit young children, or file his own taxes. Why, then, should a cognitively incapacitated 82-year-old retain one of the most important positions of power within the national government," per PublicNotice
Whoopi Goldberg on Trump: “I want all of this insanity to stop. I’m sick of this. You cannot have The Kennedy Center man. It’s not yours. Fix the war. Forget the buildings. Fix the war. Fix the economy. Stop trying to move stuff out of museums. Stop it. Would you just pay attention to the American people?”
I’m getting really fucking tired of rich old white men in our government telling us groceries are cheaper when they haven’t shopped for groceries in their entire fucking lives.
If he tears down the Kennedy Center because he’s a big baby who didn’t get his way, what the fuck will he do to this country when he loses the midterms?
