Toy Story is my all-time favorite Pixar franchise, and Toy Story 5 has made me love these characters SO much more. The first movie I’ve ever watched that made me tear up almost instantly. I adored it.
It’s a beautiful, heartfelt story that is needed, and one I hope has a generational impact. There were many times I thought, “How did they think of writing that?” in the best way possible. So many laughs. So many tears. And one scene that specifically wrecked me emotionally (in a good way).
Jessie and Bullseye are a phenomenal duo. Conan O’Brien’s Smarty Pants performance stands out. Tim Allen delivers in so many ways as Buzz Lightyear and the 50 Hi-Tech Edition Buzz Lightyears. The entire cast is exceptional and did such a fantastic job bringing these beloved characters back to the big screen.
And I couldn’t write a Toy Story 5 review without acknowledging how far Pixar’s animation has come. From Toy Story, the world’s first fully computer-animated feature film, to the STUNNING paint-like animation style and Blaze’s incredibly realistic hair in Toy Story 5, this franchise continues to move the studio forward.
My expectations for this story were so high, I was nervous I would be disappointed walking out of the theater. Thankfully, it was the exact opposite. I walked out of the theater feeling pure peace (after the tears on my face dried), already wanting to see it many more times on the big screen. I’m so happy this film exists.
The wars that stain the present moment with blood are the fruit of the idolatry of power and money. Let us not grow accustomed to the clamor of weapons and images of war! #Peace is not merely a balance of power. It is the work of purified hearts, of those who see others as brothers and sisters to be protected, not enemies to be defeated. #ApostolicJourney https://t.co/WeRUclJHqq
Faced with the possibility of a tragedy of immense proportions, I make a heartfelt appeal to all the parties involved to assume the moral responsibility of halting the spiral of violence before it becomes an unbridgeable chasm. May diplomacy regain its proper role, and may the well-being of peoples, who yearn for peaceful existence founded on justice, be upheld. And let us continue to pray for peace.
I am following with deep concern what is happening in the Middle East and in Iran during this tumultuous time. Stability and peace are not achieved through mutual threats, nor through the use of weapons, which sow destruction, suffering, and death, but only through reasonable, sincere, and responsible dialogue.
When a childs stress response system is activated, they cannot access the thinking part of their brain,we must not go straight for cortex.
We must regulate the lower parts of the brain first which are oversensitised. Children cannot reason when their emotions are not regulated🧠🌱
Behaviour is a form of communication that is just the tip of the iceberg. These behaviours can be hidden struggles & emotional wounds. When we look below the surface,we can address those needs instead of managing the symptoms & punishment cycles.Sometimes there is more beneath🧠🌱
When a pupil is distressed/dysregulated,this is not a time for."Why did you do this," or a lecture about their behaviour. Why? The thinking part of the brain has gone offline & they are much less able to take in or process verbal information. 🧠🌱
Trauma is not what happened to you. Trauma is the wound that you carry because of what happened to you.
What should have happened that didn't. The lack of connection, the neglect.
The care that you never got.
This is called relational trauma, which is too often overlooked.
🧠🌱
It isn't about relationships OR learning.
It's about relationships AND learning.
Sometimes, its relationships,THEN learning.
Relationships first, then the rest will follow.🧠🌱

Children understanding their window of tolerance is important in doing trauma work or just working with children in schools. This teaches children how to manage their emotions under stress by giving them a toolkit of inner resources to self-soothe & keep within their window. 🧠🌱
The smell of petrichor will be strong tonight as rain returns after the extreme dry spell. When raindrops hit bone-dry soil, they release geosmin—a natural compound from soil bacteria—into the air. It’s nature’s perfume… the scent of rain! 💧
