Having a terrible school administrator can literally ruin your life — mentally, emotionally, financially, socially. The gaslighting, manipulation, ineptitude, deception. Smh. I am so sorry for any who have been forced to suffer through this.
Over 90% of Finnish teachers remain in education for entirety of career. How? Teachers are respected as professionals, given adequate time for planning during the school day, and more autonomy in school decisions. Maybe that's why we lose nearly 50% of teachers every 5 years!
Standardized tests have no place in elementary education. Because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away the fun and excitement of learning, playing, exploring, & creating. We prepare test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.
Schools are now structured so that the overwhelming number of student misbehaviors essentially have ZERO consequences.
This is horrible for teachers…but it’s even worse for the students who want to learn!
Teachers don't leave because it's hard. Teachers are some of the hardest working professionals I know. They leave because the expectations and demands become more unrealistic every year.
