@ced_jayy Teachers lose a day of learning, their planned lesson gets shelved and now they need to pivot and rework the lesson into an online format. Oh of course we’d be happy to do that, and we have loads of free time! And of course every kid will do the lesson, it’ll be just like Covid!
I also think we grossly underestimate what it takes to run a classroom much less a school. We can get up here and say what’s best for “my child” but educators/administrators/staff are responsible for hundreds+ in one day for almost 8 hours.
@teachbk Agree, expectations can be taught without shaming, but they do need to start from day 1. When we upper grades see our littles “catching a bubble” we quietly praise them with a 👍 & they’re so proud! Children are capable of so much more than we give them credit for.
@teachbk It’s called boundaries, and children who don’t learn them have a harder time in the world. We teach respect for others early and practice it often. There’s a time/place for exploring, singing, playing but a busy hallway in a school where others are trying to learn isn’t it.
Ridiculous and stupid.
Texas school district cancels trip to see play due to performance that was not 'age-appropriate' https://t.co/dQQj8TFbAH via @wfaa
@FOX4 Many school districts are doing this in part to attract teachers. Teachers are leaving the profession in droves and fewer individuals are choosing education as a career path. Now I wonder why that is. Better yet, how do we fix it? I’ll wait.

So, without telling anyone, Dave Grohl brought his giant smoker and cooked/fed barbecue and sides for 500 folks at Hope Mission in L.A. during the storms. Paid for it all. Worked 16 hours. So, when the aliens get here and ask “who’s in charge?”, I think we take them to Dave Grohl.
