Rainbow Solutions Lab! Students had to prepare various diluted solutions of sucrose with specific colours. Layers of coloured solutions formed a beautiful 🌈 Students were eager to clean up using cold water to cool off from yesterday's hot weather! #STEMed @VMMustangs

Students grouped up, read one page of an article and relied on others' summaries for an understanding of Mass Spectrometry and how to identify doping in athletes. Then they drew their idea of a mass spectrometer from what they read! @VMMustangs #STEMed Chem met literacy and art!

Yesterday, @VMMustangs competed in a variety of STEM events at Guelph Science Olympics, racing against other teams and against the clock. Students powered through the day with little rest, putting their brains to the test! We took home awards and lifelong memories! #GECDSBProud

Yesterday at the Guelph Science Olympiad, we witnessed an unofficial Guinness World Record of amount of "elephant toothpaste" produced!! 10L of KI catalyst was used, with about 3 bottles of liquid soap, and about 52L of hydrogen peroxide. 🤯 #scienceiscool
