Today I worked with 4th graders to use connecting cubes to represent the subtraction of mixed numbers. Such a concrete representation of an abstract concept. @HamptonDolphins
Give extra smiles and love tomorrow. Our students are watching and depending on our stability and poise. We’re all in this together. We got this. 🌎🤍 #schoolfamily
Mrs. Mazur’s class is spending Halloween doing a multiplication escape room that she created. The students were engaged and collaborating. What more could you want? @HESMrsMazur@HamptonDolphins#teamwork@BCPSMATH
Five of my favorite questions for inappropriate behavior:
1. Why do you think that is ok?
2. Where did u learn this (behavior)?
3. Who in your life believes that’s ok?
4. How can you help fix this?
5. What can we/you do differently?

Students played a new review game today. There was so much collaboration and excitement to review for their math test tomorrow (we even played through recess 🙀) Low prep, high engagement! @JoppaViewES@BCPSMATH
Low prep, high reward! Ss worked with a partner to solve fraction word problems. If correct, students got a piece of a puzzle. Students worked so hard to earn all the pieces to put together the mystery picture. @KJenningsJr@JoppaViewES
Trying to empower parents who may feel like they don’t understand the “new math”. I know parents want to help but often feel helpless. For homework tonight, I created two videos that walk through the problem so ss/parents can check their work. Hopefully it helps! @BCPSMATH
