@sputniksteve @MrsSpalding Good for you. Good for you all. That’s the beauty of freedom of thought. It’s fantastic that new teachers will get this support. I am simply pointing out that it’s a shame that it’s making many long serving colleagues feel the opposite. Rightly or not.

@MrsSpalding Unfortunately, I think their decision to publicise the ‘extra cash’ has somewhat undone some of their good work there. Here’s time and money for some v.s less time and more pressure for the rest, especially those on UPS3. It’s a shame.

@MrsSpalding Respectfully, I disagree. This was not billed as an improvement to the quality of training for new teachers. It is has been announced under the banner of a solution to the recruitment and retention crisis. Working conditions need to improve for everyone for this to happen.

@MrsSpalding Hmm, I’m not convinced. I find it sad that the workload and wellbeing of all teachers cannot be the priority. It feels like we are playing second fiddle, which shouldn’t be the case.

@MissSandles @Team_English1 Definitely look at the marking and behaviour policy. At interview, do they give you any time to yourself of are you constantly accompanied? Talk to staff and students as much as you can, especially in unstructured opportunities. If it doesn’t feel right, withdraw. Good luck!
