@Chris_SmithsJ This. As a former theology teacher in the diocese, I saw so much division. I will not go into details, but I can see why the bishop felt a need to do this. I wish this didn't have to happen to address the issues.
@RepMcClellan This is flat out fear-mongering. Women's medical management is not the same thing as an abortion, and states that have pro-life laws all allow for women to be treated in such circumstances. Also, this situation wouldn't ever warrant an abortion. Lies lies lies.
This is fear-mongering plain and simple.
No abortion law on the books or proposed anywhere in the country would prevent this kind of life-saving treatment - and @RepMcClellan knows that, which is why she carefully avoids making that explicit claim.
In fact, though she doesn't appear to realize it, @RepMcClellan's testimony is a powerful pro-life story of hope that affirms the humanity of unborn children and celebrates the miracle of modern medical science.
In Virginia, Republicans have proposed protections for unborn life after 15 weeks with exceptions for rape, incest, and when the life of the mother is at stake.
Don't believe the lies Democrats are telling you to cling to power.
This thread is depressing, but important to read. We are already experiencing the devastating effects of unregulated migration. November can't come soon enough.
Recent Abortion Amendment news:
New polling shows the majority of South Dakota women oppose the abortion up-to-birth amendment.
Overall, the majority of South Dakotans are not in support.
EVEN Planned Parenthood and the ACLU do not support the badly written Abortion Amendment.
NEW POLL: The majority of South Dakota women OPPOSE the abortion up-to-birth amendment, according to a survey conducted by SD News Watch and the Chiesman Center for Democracy. Overall, the poll also found the amendment does not have the support of the majority of South Dakotans.
Another aspect of the Kate Cox story that reveals how dishonest media coverage and her pro-abortion attorney’s lawsuit is:
According to her lawsuit, Cox had two c-sections. And doesn’t want to deliver her daughter with Trisomy 18 alive because she may need to do another c-section for her daughter to be born alive and “risk future fertility.” Her lawsuit claims the c-section is what justifies her intentionally killing the baby via D&E abortion (which is horribly brutal by the way - live dismemberment).
Yet if Kate gets pregnant again and delivers another baby, she will likely undergo a c-section for what she hopes (presumably) is a baby in perfect health.
Bottom line: according to her lawsuit, Kate is *planning* to get pregnant again and undergo a c-section for a possible future baby, but she insists on the right to a *late term* abortion because her current baby has disabilities. She doesn’t fear a c-section as much as she fears her daughter surviving. And people are applauding her and saying she is the victim here for not being able to kill her baby, not the baby that’s about to be killed for the crime of being seriously disabled. This is where we are at. Instead of encouraging and helping parents to care for their ill or disabled children, society is cheering on the termination of disabled children and demanding it as a right.
Heartbreaking.
A baby with Trisomy 18 has the same dignity and worth as you or me. They deserve love and care for however many moments, days or years they have on earth — not the extreme torture of dismemberment by an abortionist.
@sbwnhtx@HeathMayo Exactly. This is NOT a life exception. Giving birth to a baby with Trisomy 18 will not harm her. This is exactly why there is a stay.
Soliciting signatures to legalize abortion next to a coffin with a human skull in hand.
The petitioners brazenly want the death of unborn children—even willing to put mothers’ lives in danger by banning all safety requirements for most abortions.
Decline to sign.
@LifeDefenseFund Wow! Did they mean to post this? Showing their true colors. What a dumb choice on their part. At least they're being honest about what their goals are. Yikes!
Abortion Amendment activists won't admit that their extreme amendment would legalize late-term abortion up to the point of birth.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley counters their lies by speaking the truth:
@paultenhaken is this who you really want as Grand Marshal? I can no longer take my family to the parade. It's supposed to be family-friendly. NOT divisive.
Hey Jeff @ZandbrozSF, why do you feel it appropriate to be the “Grand Marshal” for the Sioux Falls Parade of Lights @dtsiouxfalls when you have a gross history of harassing and denigrating @LifeDefenseFund women volunteers, in this case when she was alone, using your social media pages & in person?
@realColeHeisey @ZandbrozSF @dtsiouxfalls@LifeDefenseFund Wow! That's atrocious! There's no way I'm taking my family to the parade. It's no longer family friendly. What a way to ruin a beautiful tradition. @ZandbrozSF is so divisive.
@Amyy2972 @RepJonHansen That is simply not true. The maternal mortality rates have been going up since before Roe v. Wade was overturned. Also, what do you mean that a lack of abortion causes infant death rates? Do you even understand what you just typed? Abortion kills a baby. It doesn't save it. 🤦♀️
