I think this is already happening. When I build with Codex, I barely read the code anymore — I read the behavior.
I describe what I want, let the agent implement it, then judge the result and steer it when something feels wrong.
So maybe the skill isn’t disappearing. It’s moving up a layer: from knowing exactly how every line works to knowing what should happen, what looks wrong, and how to correct course.
The weird part is that we may end up with a whole generation of builders who can create surprisingly complex software without ever learning the underlying machinery in the traditional order.

Hey @keyanzhang @sharifshameem — when will Plus users get GPT-6 Luna and Sol in local Codex, like we already have in Work on the web?
On Windows Codex Desktop, they still don't appear in the model picker, and gpt-6-luna also reports that it's unsupported with a ChatGPT account. Is this a rollout limitation or a bug?
