But yeah, advocating for women’s sex-based rights means I’m right wing 🤷🏼♀️
At some point @AndreaEganGS you’re going to have to admit that your middle class gender religion is classist and isn’t believed by the majority of your female members. Sort it out. People are over this nonsense
@datadriven_tdoc@biologyinmed Because it’s a sexual fetish, Laura. Babies should not be forced to participate in a sexual fetish. Isn’t that bloody obvious?
The young women of TikTok are waking up!
Gabby made this lovely video explaining how I radicalized her!
She’s a young butch lesbian and standing strong in her nonconformity. Go follow her @gxbbyx215 on TikTok.
@hanjmason@JournalistJill Don’t be ridiculous. No decent parent would allow their 10 year old daughter to stay overnight at a boy’s house. You clearly know nothing about parenting or safeguarding
On 7th October we remember that the terrorist raping and pillaging bast@drs HAMAS killed innocent people and posted their violent video receipts of the massacre all over the internet. Then the Green Party shouted ‘Free Palestine’.
Three years on, we remember the horrific events of October 7 and the wave of destruction in Gaza that has followed it.
We call today, and every day, for an end to the violence, for peace and safety for all.
A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.
The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019.
A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years.
Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture.
The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.
Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls.
"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded.
Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.
The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges.
The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway.
How many more adolescents will be told this is "care"?
“Gender can be anything you like. It’s entirely cultural but unfortunately sex is not entirely cultural. It’s something you’re born with, whether you like it or not and most of us who grow up to be women who have our first period at 12, 13, 14 whatever it’s traumatizing otherwise. A body we thought we knew becomes ‘smelly’ and ‘dirty’ and ‘different’ and then the boys come along and be watching pornography and say that we’re not groomed and that we have to remove our body hair and so on. We’re gonna spend our lives removing body hair! That’s femininity which is the FAKE version of femaleness. Female is real and its sex and femininity is unreal and its gender and it’s a role you play and for THAT to become the given identity of women is a profoundly disabling notion”
- Germaine Greer
i need someone to explain to me how this is or this is not misogynistic and im very serious. i actually need it explained to me. i can’t figure out by myself
To repeat, for the nth time:
Conservatives: Women wear lipstick
Feminists: Anyone can wear lipstick
TRAs: People who like wearing lipstick are woman
Radical deconstruction my arse.
My position is that gender dysphoria is a real, painful condition and that for some adults, the only way they may feel able to resolve that inner conflict is transition. If that’s the road they choose I wish them long life and happiness and I would vigorously oppose any discrimination against them when it comes to employment, housing or voting rights.
I do not believe children have the capacity to consent to treatments that may leave them infertile and, in some cases, anorgasmic. Multiple studies have shown that gender dysphoria in childhood and adolescence is not uncommon, for gay kids particularly, but it also occurs in, for example, straight girls who hate the idea of becoming women and sometimes, tragically, in children who’ve been abused. The available evidence shows that in the majority of cases, gender dysphoria resolves after the person has gone through adolescence. I am strongly opposed to the experimental treatment of blocking puberty in dysphoric children. I believe trans activists have behaved hugely unethically and irresponsibly in pretending that there is good evidence that these treatments are beneficial (there isn’t), that puberty blockers are completely reversible (there is a mounting body of evidence to suggest they aren’t) or that children are likely to kill themselves if denied blockers (there is no evidence to support this and suicide prevention charities warn against making such statements, due to the very real danger of suicide contagion.)
Of course, not all trans-identified people are dysphoric. Erotic transvestism, also known as autogynephilia, (getting a sexual thrill out of dressing as/pretending to be a woman) has been around for a very long time. I believe lesbians are entitled to exclude straight, cross-dressing men from their dating pools without being accused of bigotry and worse (same goes for gay men with trans-identified women). It’s profoundly homophobic to attack gay people for being same-sex attracted.
I don’t believe anyone, adult or child, is ‘born in the wrong body.’ That is an unfalsifiable, quasi-religious belief. A person may *feel* as if they’re in the wrong body, but humans cannot literally change sex. However they identify, men don’t belong in the single-sex spaces for which women fought so hard.
You wouldn’t know it from reading this piece, but the vast majority of the LGBTQ+ community stand with our trans siblings.
Their struggle is front and centre at pride because they are the community whose rights are under attack. Pride is, and will always be, a protest.
