@TfL Hi guys.
Currently @TottenhamCourtRoad station, trying to get into the Elizabeth Line. There have been multiple announcements over the tannoy, but unfortunately, we cannot hear a single word. It's very, very low and the sound comes out muted. No idea what's up.
@JulianneC17@tt_dubs @SFL2326 @Miss_S_Phillips I only did supply for a couple of months, I found a job nearly right away. I wasn't necessarily looking for one, but I don't regret it xD
I don't know how many schools/people an agent manages, but I reckon they're also overwhelmed, especially during high season for illness.
@tt_dubs @SFL2326 @Miss_S_Phillips Former supply teacher here. That's mandatory to enter any school. I worked in a number of them and I always had to have my ID (and DBS), which they'd scan, and get my picture taken by those newfangled machines which would spit out a badge with my name and picture for a lanyard.
@Rossbuchanan25 @PaulbernalUK Vodafone & Voxi, Three, Tesco, Sky, Talk and now EE have all introduced prohibitive charges. Virgin is now O2. O2 is the only major one which doesn't charge, for now. Vodafone wasn't going to either, until they did. Are there other options? Sure. But most people aren't on them.
@Grannyweatherw2@ashleigh_pain Not to mention the fact that we do have to work on our 'holidays'. Might not be every day, might not be 8 hours, but it's still unpaid. The only holiday I make it a point of pride to not work in is the summer, for 4 of the 6 weeks. Otherwise it's unavoidable with 200+ assessments
@Sarah_Jayne1981 Hey. Secondary here (worked in Primary for 2 years). We definitely have to mark books. Of course it depends on the school policy in terms of frequency - same for Primary - but we definitely do. I've worked in 5 schools, plus the Primary and I had to mark in all of them.
@_MrLevick Interesting to note that only 5 years ago, before inflation was what it is now, the bursary for languages was 28K and for English it was 15K. I would not have been able to train on 10K. At least not Uni-led ITT.
@i_hex_ye @crow_vee I mean, it's a lot more sensible than the original lyrics. Who'd want all those things and also people aren't to give away π π€£
@redgierob 2/2 Gone with confining, unbreathable, stinky polyester; in with soft, elasticated cotton. Out with ties. My school added a PE uniform when I was in 6th Form. All cotton, two colours (4 combos) to choose from. Smart casual, especially when they added smart shorts. It was great!
@redgierob 1/2 I grew up in southern Europe where uniform is solely used by private schools. I found the policies around it strange when I moved to the UK to teach. While I agree with some of the arguments (the safeguarding ones), I do genuinely think the uniform itself needs changing.
@SashavonTolvay@denianneke3gato@SerenaJB3@THemingford You've forgotten ethical cleansing, abductions, killings, erasure, etc, of a whole population. When the British got to Australia, there were people there. The indefensible disrespect for other cultures and later criminal behaviour they showed have consequences even today. Vile
