As a former student journalist who has colleagues in the media, I find this statement incredibly appalling and insulting. The Philippines is one of the most dangerous places for journalists worldwide. When a senator tags media as "bayaran", he not only discredits the truth, he legitimizes the attack on the very people who can tell the story.
These journalists were the ones caught in the fire during the Senate shooting. And in this desperate attempt to gain sympathy, they attacked the media instead.
Now, ask yourself, sinong may kasalanan bakit wala kayo sa coverage. Just because the news is not favorable to you doesn't mean na "bayaran" na sila. Maybe start by looking at what's wrong with you first.
The reality is simple eh: ayaw niyong maging subject to questions so you opt to FB lives and attacks on the media.
Tutal nasa usapang bayaran tayo. Kayo?
The Tulfo brand on display, speaks the language of the masses, direct to the point but borderline offensive just enough to trigger a response. And people love this, we get entertained by this not because it’s shallow but because it does MAKE SENSE.
If your father or mother is above 67, please pause and read this slowly.
At that age, life begins to feel different for them. The world moves faster, but their bodies move slower. The things they once did effortlessly now require effort. Their strength is not what it used to be, and even if they don’t say it, they feel it.
What they need now is not pressure. Not stress. Not arguments about money or past mistakes. They need stability. They need reassurance. They need to feel safe.
If they have savings, protect it. This is not the stage for risky investments or “let’s try this opportunity.” It is the stage for preservation. Capital safety matters more than high returns. Peace of mind matters more than profit.
If they depend on you financially, don’t see it as a burden. See it as a privilege. The same hands that once carried you are now weaker. The same voices that defended you now speak softer. Support them with dignity, not pity.
And beyond money, give them something deeper.
Call them without being in a hurry.
Sit with them without checking your phone every two minutes.
Let them repeat stories you’ve heard before. One day, you will wish to hear those stories again.
At 67 and above, what they truly fear is not death. It is loneliness. It is feeling forgotten.
Take care of their health. Help them organize their documents. Make sure they are not being financially manipulated. Protect them from stress. But most importantly, protect their heart.
Because one day, the chair they sit on will be empty.
And no amount of money will buy back one more conversation.
She came alone.
She hardly faced them in a true sense.
She barely could read her script.
She came for the funeral of what's left of her imagined influence.
"I've said this over and over again — you prefer vloggers and influencers now for your so-called unbiased content, but on our worst days as a nation, it's the journalists who will show up. Remember that."

#News5
They never had any comments when the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine Coast Guard were subjected to inhumane and barbaric harassment while carrying out a medical evacuation in Ayungin Shoal.
However, when the mansion of the fugitive Pastor Quiboloy was surrounded by the Philippine National Police, they had lengthy statements and even criticized the police's efforts to arrest him.
I find such reaction paradoxical, and it makes one question where their loyalty and interests really lie.

Trending yung Cynthia Villar. Whenever I am seeing her name or any of the Villar's name, nagiinit talaga ang dugo ko!
