@MassEducation Bottom line, we can't get rid of MCAS altogether because it is tied to our federal education funds. MCAS will go on, but a YES on 2 would eliminate MCAS as a graduation requirement for all students.
@kelleratlarge With all due respect to @MassEducation,
all you have to do to find "how are students doing,... [to] develop a coherent strategy... to meet their needs & understand which groups of students need more help" is ASK A TEACHER. @massteacher
@MassEducation And, @MassEducation is being disingenuous when he says without the MCAS graduation requirement, MA "would have... about 400 different variations of high school graduation requirements." Come on, @MassEducation, this is MA! Come up with universal graduation requirements, then! ๐
@PearlJam Definitely wish you would make these available on your website.๐๐๐ For most of us attending the Tuesday show, getting back into Boston between noon & 5 the next day was impossible. Now, if we want one, which I DO, we have to pay scalper prices on ebay (over $100). ๐ญ
You're right, Walt! You can't even find this unicorn work in schools! The only reason we are paid for 12 months is for our local municialities' budgeting purposes. I work hard (& unpaid) to make sure our students are informed critical thinkers. ๐ค
@Mathowitz If you donโt like working in the public sector find a job working for a private company. Youโll be in for a rude awakening. There is no work 9 months and get paid for 12.
@FAFSA when will the scheduled maintenance of your website REALLY be done? We all just FINALLY received our financial aid packages MONTHS later than normal because of all of these outages. Was supposed to be done Sun @ 12pm, then Mon @ all hours, now today ๐คท๐คฆ๐คฌ

@greg_ashman@ddmeyer 14 years ago! Have your opinions, views, & beliefs not changed, evolved, or sharpened with 14 years' of experience? Mine definitely have!
Iโm thinking about creating a company called, โRetirement Bourbon,โ where you order a bottle on your first day of teaching, we age it, and send it to you on the day you retire.
Who wants a bottle?!
@JaneMolnarMath I ask them to identify or explain why I think it is inefficient and if they agree or disagree. If they disagree, I ask them to explain. (4th grade)
@JaneMolnarMath Agreed, so I have a lazy question (lazy because I could probably figure out the answer myself, but my brain is incapable of that rn)
How would YOU change it? I talk to my students about being efficient EVERY day, and I point out the inefficiencies I see in our curricula.
