Love this! Wakefield YAT leaders demonstrate their passion for and commitment to public health beyond the classroom with youth-led projects supported by @WakefieldUP staff throughout the year. More students can join the conversation by attending middle/high school club meetings!
It was wonderful to meet with students from the Wakefield Youth Action Team who came to the State House to advocate for public health legislation that I filed and to show them around the Massachusetts Senate. (1/2)
@oberlincollege and their lacrosse team gets both a brilliant, hardworking student as well as a fierce competitor and advocate in Emma Ickes. The example she has set while wearing the Warrior jersey and her accomplishments here in Wakefield are really just the beginning for her!
I’ve witnessed the time/effort Emma puts in to make our growing chapter of @MorgansMessage an important part of Wakefield Athletics culture. She is a force of nature responsible for unifying Wakefield Athletics around a worthy cause: student-athlete mental health. What a legacy!
Gymnastics Final:
Wakefield - 124.25
@AHS_SpyPonders - 124.2
An absolute barn burner of a meet but the Warriors edge this one out. A strong performance all around and a quick nod to the music choice for SR. Cara Carangelo on the floor.

Insights from a Wakefield High teen reveal that the choice to stay away from drugs enables them to be a dependable friend and a trustworthy daughter. Statistics indicate that 90% of teens who avoid drug use are seen as reliable friends and dependable family members
Girls Final: Wakefield 56 Wilmington 44. Wakefield finishes the season 15-5 and wins the Middlesex League Freedom Division for the third year in a row!
Alongside her #ConnColl field hockey teammates, Hope Melanson ’24 joined the @GiftofLife Marrow Registry with a swab of the cheek. Months later, she received word that she was a match for a patient in need of a stem cell transplant.

So proud of Wakefield students brave enough to give volleyball and Coach Barboza a chance in the team’s inaugural season! Updates from the team are some of the best parts of my lunch duty these days.
Only a few days way from senior night. Blows my mind how fast the winter season has gone by but I’ve love every second of it. Gymnastics will always be a huge part of my life- never want to let it go.

Thoroughly enjoyed venturing into Boston with Mr. O’Brien’s juniors today! He was an excellent historical tour guide but my favorite moments were the conversations he struck up with random folks on city sidewalks about what they did for a living and how they chose their careers.
With beautiful efforts on beam, floor, and bars, Molly Grady concludes her competitive gymnastics career today. Today was an amazing opportunity for a very special Wakefield gymnast. I’m a happy and grateful witness. Congratulations, Molly!
@WMHS_Warriors gymnast Molly Grady (second row, right end) and Team Massachusetts have arrived to practice in Fort Myers Beach, Florida and are ready for Senior Nationals tomorrow! Proud of you, Mol!
@Woodville_PE @WMHS_Warriors@Woodville_Sch Future Warrior gymnasts in the making! I wish the Wakefield Gymnastics team could host a class in the gymnastics gym!
