Hereโs a video of the circuit running once it was fully connected! Afterwards, Ss tried removing parts of the circuit to see if it would function without certain parts! #circuits#science#grade6
Building circuits in class! @ExploreLearning is a fantastic website for students to manipulate/test different materials in their circuits using the Circuit Builder activity. 1 student excitedly brought in his own circuit set from home to share #science#electricity#grade6
Today we got to test out our boats! Students gathered around the perimeter of the mat while each tested their boat. Challenge: how many coins can your boat hold while remaining above water? ๐ฅ
Task: Create a boat out of only aluminum foil that will be able to float with a load inside. So fun seeing the wheels turning and the creativity flowing while applying science understanding!
Task: draw only 1/2 of a symmetrical creation. Record steps for how to draw other half. Orally guide partner through drawing other half without seeing yours. = lots of giggles and aha moments. Explaining things is a lot harder than it seems! #math#literacy#crosscurricular
Little scientists at work exploring solids and liquids. Which of these solids do you think will absorb water? Which do you think will repel water? Using paper towel to dry off items to see if they absorb or repel! #scientists#grade2
Looks like weโve got a bunch of little data collectors in the building! Ss created their own Qs/choices, collected primary data & recorded it in a tally chart. Follow up: display in bar graph w/1-1 correspondence & reflect/conclude on data
Ss are exploring books about countries around the world and identifying unique characteristics which they will then compare those to our community! #socialstudies#grade2#books
Learning how to regroup in #Grade2 understanding this concept can be a tricky one, and itโs the worst when your Doc Cam malfunctions in the middle of it all!
