Last year 9 our of 16.
Previous year, 14 out of 23.
Year before that 11 out of 21.

Not an ideal situation, but I had been lucky enough to have a SPED teacher who is amazing and we were able to provide plenty of differentiation to meet their needs.

@edtechmathteach Hope your day went well. As I walked my class to lunch, my former 4th graders stopped me to say I should be proud of them, they knew all the review content and key words needed for their first ELA task. They felt so confident, great to see.

@TolentinoTeach Absolutely true. Even if I'm teaching the same grade, same content. I plan for the groups of kiddos I have that year. The same activities, teaching modes, etc. may not be effective.

@Beanie0597 Agreed. I moved schools two years ago and have to constantly justify why I "waste" time on spelling. Mind you, my 4th graders have must typed a 4-5 paragraph for standardized testing in April.

@teachwhocares1 Yes, same experience we are having. We were told that Pace would be faster and simpler than Alliance for the Aging. I feel like that was a lie.

@RIRIMETAX @lilbleetbitchh They do have timed essays and they are graded on State Test starting from 4th grade onwards. I teach the kids how to write by hand, then revisions are typed for practice. Their essays must be typed on the final exam, they have about 2 hours.

@edtechmathteach That is great. Both of my teens took a practice Calc test this week, with predicted scores in a level 4 & 5. They were over the moon. It eased their worry a bit to know they're in a good spot. Enjoy your weekend.

@MonteSyrie Nope, it is everywhere. I'm in south FL and have only had 5 days of perfect attendance in the past 5 weeks. Today, 2 absent in my am class - 3 picked up early ( one of those gets picked up by midday 2x per week), my pm class is missing 3 kiddos.
