What a special treat for me this morning. @StarkvilleSD ambassadors visited city hall for a full day of learning about their city. These are our future leaders. We are very fortunate to have them in our community.
I gave my kiddos some time after their test today to make Mother’s Day cards for the motherly/maternal figures in their lives... and I never expected to get one back🥹💗 what a way to end Teacher Appreciation Week!
When we model kindness and empathy, we show our kids that compassion is key to any sort of relationship. Together, we can change how humans treat each other. ♥️

Today in science class, we tested substances with different pH indicators to determine if they were acids or bases! This was such good practice for making observations and inferences— a skill that is used in all content areas! #starkvillespark#expectexcellence#mshowell
I’m spending the next 2 days at the Library of Congress’ STEPS Conference, where I’m learning how to use more primary historical documents in science! I can’t wait to bring what I’ve been learning back to my kiddos. #starkvillespark#expectexcellence
