FEDERAL FUNDING & LOCAL PROJECTS
City of North Charleston: We wrote a letter of support for the city's PROTECT grant application through the USDOT. The project will address recurring flooding and stormwater discharge capacity in the Chicora Basin. A critical network supporting port operations, commercial trucking, military operations, and manufacturing across the region.

PROTECT Grant Outreach: We reached out to every county and municipality in SC01 on the USDOT's PROTECT program, offering letters of support, flagging deadlines, and connecting local leaders directly with USDOT as needed.

Awendaw Municipal Improvements: We are supporting Awendaw's municipal improvement project, which will upgrade the town's playground. Town hall is currently closed after hours, weekends, and holidays, and the only facility on-site is a porta-potty. There is nowhere for a parent to change a child's diaper. We're working to fix it.

We introduced the No Bailouts for Cashless Bail Jurisdictions Act to cut federal funding to any jurisdiction substantially eliminating cash bail for serious offenses and putting dangerous criminals back on the streets.

Cashless bail is not compassion. It's a revolving door, and law-abiding Americans are the ones getting hurt.

This bill is simple: eliminate cash bail, lose federal funding.
