Check out how T @MrsBrooksPUSD encourages discussion in math class!
Each student gets a few chips to use, placing them on the appropriate sentence starter whenever they contribute to discussion:
I organized my fav online math games by topic. Our T'ers are running small groups during Intervention Time & we want to include a technology game center
I only included the games I have played and liked.
Enjoy! #iteachmath#elemmathchat#educhat#Math4All

Update- I started some #ChoralCountung and #estimation180 activities. It already feels more meaningful and engaging for students. A good reminder to allow ourselves to veer from the provided resources when it’s what our students need.
Number corners routine in 2nd grade is feeling way too teacher directed. Who has a daily math warm up routine they love that is student directed and fun? #iteachmath
@BrianMendler Sometimes we all need a little space and a break, let student have this time to calm down. Learning how to regulate your feelings is a life skill and needs to be taught.
My daughters 2nd grade teacher quit 4 weeks into the school year. Tonight my heart breaks for my son. Friday is his 4th grade teachers last day. He literally loves her. Both leaving the profession. Both incredible teachers. My ❤️ hurts for the kids… & for our profession.
The purpose of the education system should be to discover the genius in every child and grow that genius. The purpose should not be to narrowly define genius and see which children can hit that mark. #equityispersonal#howamismart https://t.co/5baUv2FV1Y
We are going to fight for educators and students.
That means hiring more counselors and school nurses.
That means paying educators what they're worth.
That means protecting the right to organize.
