"The Renaissance Required in West Bengal" - my article in today's New Indian Express where I argue that Bengal's economic revival depends on recapturing its civilizational identity after decades of deliberate manipulation. As the civilizational roots of Bengalis were deliberately chipped away, it left an intellectual and socio-cultural vacuum. The sneering of “aanteil” intellectuals cannot fill the emptiness. This is the source of Bengal’s political anarchism, mindless trade unionism, militant student activism and deadwood intellectualism; all merely trying to fill that hole in the heart. As an aside, a similar story can be told of another state - Punjab, the other state that was Partitioned.

RIL CMD Mukesh Ambani says Jio is building “India’s largest AI-ready data centre” in Jamnagar with “a single goal — affordable AI for every Indian.”

He announced that Jio will launch “India’s first people-centric AI platform, built in India for India and the world,” enabling citizens to access AI services “in their own language, on their own device, every day,” starting from Gujarat.

Met with Shri P. M. S. Prasad, Executive Director & Member of the Board, Reliance Industries Limited, and Shri PVL Madhava Rao, Mentor–South, Reliance Industries Limited. Delighted to share that Reliance has made landmark announcements for Andhra Pradesh.

Reliance will set up a 1 GW Artificial Intelligence Data Centre in the state, a fully modular, future-ready facility designed to host the world’s most advanced GPUs, TPUs, and AI processors. It will operate as a twin to their gigawatt-scale AI Data Centre in Jamnagar, together forming one of Asia’s strongest AI infrastructure networks.

To power this AI Data Centre sustainably, Reliance will also develop a 6 GWp solar power project in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative will double our state’s current ground-mounted solar capacity, contribute over 30% of our renewable energy, and unlock AP’s vast solar potential.

In addition, Reliance will build a Greenfield Integrated Food Park in Rayalaseema, a world-class automated facility. This major investment will generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs and create sustained income opportunities for thousands of families.
