Woah, great question!!! Alignment in values and vision I feel are so important. If our values are not aligned, then I feel our vision or, at the minimum, our actions and intentions to achieve that vision will be different.
As leaders we all aspire 2build high-performing/successful teams. Do you just try to find high-performing individuals or do you embed values and behaviours that create an environment where high-performance is a part of the DNA?How do you build your teams? What are your top tips?
@Shaza33 A2 not sure how to do this, but I think every teacher should have the opportunity to teach abs go through the process. When I first started teaching grade five, it was a big aha moment for me. It just brings it all together #pypchat
@SeanPYPParis@rozzuell In order to get a shift in trans disciplinary planning, there needs to be regular, designated time to do so with clear expectations this leading to a change in how we do things. Kind of like starting an exercise program. Make it regular and it becomes a way of living! 😋
@rozzuell This was very successful and productive, especially when clear goals were being addressed (ie not just talk but ACTION! Would love to see more of this.
@rozzuell A4 - #pypchat how your time is used shows what you value. We were given designated time with specialists, along with the goal of what is to be achieved and the time allotted. It was very successful and led to clear take always for all parties.
@DaveSecomb@rozzuell Yes, I have seen this. I think if we are truly planning from where the students are and not what our own preconceived ideas of the unit, this is less likely to happen. #pypchat
@rozzuell A2 #pypchat we started our year in first grade thinking about symbols and signs and how we make sense of this. It all connected very nicely with literacy (letters, words, sentences - all organized in a way to make meaning) and our maths (digits, numbers, math sentence =meaning
@rozzuell#pypchat -A3 in our school we designate time to reflect and plan next steps as a team - this include math, literacy and unit of inquiry. This time is truly valuable as the sharing and reflection leads to growth not just with our students, but with our own practice
@rozzuell@DomThomas8@DaveSecomb Are parents part of this collaboration? I believe they are. In current situation, communication and support from our parent community is key for student success, regardless of grade. #pypchat
@rozzuell@DomThomas8@DaveSecomb I have found that the current situation highlights areas in teams that need to change in order to really collaborate. A team has two choices, trust each other and everyone pulls together, or continue in patterns that are not necessarily true collaboration. #pypchat
